Client Eligibility

  • Clients in the United Way service area (City of Atlanta, Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett,
    Clayton, Douglas, Butts, Cherokee, Fayette, Henry, Paulding, and Rockdale counties) who
    have resided in these areas for less than a month.

  • Clients who lived in Atlanta before
    and have been out of the community for six months. 

  • Individuals who qualify for specific
    programs (regardless of time residing in the metro area).

  • Single individuals that have been residing in Fulton County shelters
    and wish to return to their  home communities.

  • Battered women living in Fulton County who are fleeing domestic violence.
     

  • Mentally ill and disabled individuals.
     

  • Individuals with AIDS may be assisted with long distance travel to return
     to their  home community, regardless of how long they have been in the metro area,
     based on client's degree of illness and other resources. One time assistance only.
     

  • Runaways and minors Clients who are 17 or younger may be assisted to return
    home, regardless of how long they have been in the Atlanta area.
     

  • Clients who are 18 or 19, although not legally minors, may be assisted as minors
     if their situation or level of maturity indicates the need
